midsummer in sveadal

In the summer of 2010 I celebrated Midsummer in Sveadal, located in Morgan Hill, California. The Swedish American Patriotic League have organized and celebrated Midsummer on the site since 1916. The day starts of with the decorating and raising of the Maypole followed by children’s dances. Vendors with booths are selling Swedish wares and at the Sveadal Kaffe at the clubhouse patio there is pastries and coffee for purchase. The Midsummer program starts at 5pm and the evening ends with dancing under the stars.
